Stephen
G. Powell, M.D. is a native of Indiana and completed
his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Indiana University
School of Medicine. He followed with a Hand Surgery Fellowship
in Indianapolis at St. Vincent Hospital as well as a Fellowship
in Arthritis Surgery in Denver at St. Joseph Hospital. Dr. Powell
has been practicing in Missoula since 1978. He has been past Chief
of Surgery and Past President of the Medical Staff at Community
Medical Center. Dr. Powell is a Member of the American Society
for Surgery of the Hand, and is a Fellow of the American Academy
of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is certified by the American Board
of Orthopaedic Surgeons with Additional Qualifications in Hand
Surgery. His practice is limited to surgery of the upper extremities
including the hand, arm, and shoulder.

Michael
J. Schutte, M.D. is a Louisiana native and completed his residency
in orthopaedic surgery at Louisiana State University. He then
served a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic
Foundation. Dr. Schutte has been practicing in Missoula since1985.
He has been Chief of Surgery and is Past President of the Medical
Staff at Community Medical Center. He is certified by the American
Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy
of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Schutte was the first sports medicine
specialist in Montana. He specializes in reconstructive surgery
of the knee and shoulder. Dr. Schutte along with Northern Rockies Orthopedics, is the center of computer navigated total knee surgery for western Montana.

Thomas
A. Rickard, M.D. is originally from Long Beach, California
and is a Stanford graduate. He completed his medical school and
orthopaedic training at LAC-USC Medical Center. He followed this
with a Hand Surgery Fellowship at the Joseph H. Boyes Fellowship
in Los Angeles, and was subsequently asked to join that practice.
He directed the Hand Service at LAC-USC Medical Center until 1984.
In addition to being an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery
at USC, Dr. Rickard directed the Hand Service at LAC-USC Medical
Center until 1984. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic
Surgery, is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery
and a Member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
Dr. Rickard's practice is limited to surgery of the hand and elbow.
He began practicing in Missoula in 1991.

Larry
Stayner, M.D. was born in Seattle Washington, and grew up
in Marysville, a small town north of Seattle. Dr. Stayner received
a football scholarship from Boise State University and started
as a tight-end there from 1989-91. He won All-Conference honors
in 1990 and 1991 and was a three-time recipient of Academic All-American
honors from 1989-91. Dr. Stayner was accepted to the University
of Washington Medical School in 1992 but instead opted to pursue
a football career with the Seattle Seahawks who took him in the
ninth round of the entry draft that spring. A knee injury suffered
in his rookie year cut Dr. Stayner's football career short but
allowed him to resume his medical pursuits at the University of
Washington. After graduating in 1996, he accepted an orthopaedic
residency at Loma Linda University in California. His training
there encompassed all areas of orthopaedic surgery. In 2002, Dr.
Stayner accepted an invitation to practice sports medicine as
a fellow at the prestigious Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic, where
he provided care for athletes from the professional teams in Los
Angeles, including members of the Lakers, Dodgers, Kings, and
Mighty Ducks. Dr. Stayner also treated amateur athletes who suffered
injuries in recreational sports such as rock climbing, swimming,
ballet, skiing, cycling, and volleyball.

Emily
E. Heid , M.D., is a native of Ohio and a graduate of The
Ohio State University College of Medicine. She completed her residency
in orthopaedic surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, a consistent
top five U.S. Hospital for orthopaedics. After finishing her residency
in 1995, she practiced general orthopaedics in Greenwood, South
Carolina for five years. She then took time off from her practice
to return to the Cleveland Clinic to complete a Fellowship in
Adult Foot and Ankle Reconstruction. Since 2001, Dr. Heid has
focused her practice on the treatment of problems of the foot
and ankle in adolescents and adults. She is certified by the American
Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy
of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the American Orthopaedic
Foot and Ankle Society.
