Taylor Buckley, M.D.

Taylor J. Buckley, M.D. grew up in Roundup, Montana as the oldest of three siblings. Throughout high school and college, Taylor spent his summers working on his grandparent’s cattle ranch near Fort Peck, Montana. He also grew up in a musical family, learning to play multiple instruments and playing in a family band.

He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester where he graduated summa cum laude with a biology major and music minor. He subsequently attended medical school, where he graduated with a distinction in research. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Rochester prior to completing a one year fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery with world-renowned hand surgeon Dr. A. Lee Osterman at the Philadelphia Hand Center. This fellowship focused on treatment of both traumatic and degenerative conditions of the hand and upper extremity, peripheral nerve surgery, arthrospcopy, as well as the treatment of pediatric congenital hand problems through study with Dr. Scott Kozin at the Shriners Hospital for Children in Philadelphia.

He enjoys numerous outdoor activities with his wife and two children, including backpacking, fishing, hunting, golfing, skiing, as well as participating in the musical community in Missoula.

Areas of expertise:

– Treatment of arthritis of the hand, wrist, and elbow

– Treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome, including endoscopic carpal tunnel release

– Treatment of tendon, nerve, and ligament problems of the hand, wrist, and elbow

– Treatment of fractures in the hand and arm in adults and children

– Pediatric (congenital) hand problems

– Specific interest in conditions of the ulnar aspect of the wrist
